Description:RESPONSIBILITIES:Execute generally-accepted accounting policies, procedures and controls for $30MM not-for-profit substance abuse treatment provider. Month- and year-end general ledger closings, issuance of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, research and explain budget variances. Analyze the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts and subsidiary Accounts. Prepare journal entries and enter into G/L system. Manage financial processes and procedures for compliance, interfacing with external contracted agency monitors and auditors and NY corporate office accounting. Assist with preparation of annual budget. Prepare budgets for contract renewals and grant applications. Assist with preparation of cost reports to ensure contract maximization. Assist Controller and Finance Director in special projects as needed in support of various business units. REQUIREMENTS: Experience with government-funded nonprofit programs highly desired. B.S. in Accounting, Finance. 3 to 5 years accounting experience. Good Excel skills. Experience with integrated accounting computer systems required; Lawson experience a plus. Must be: a team player, detail oriented, and a self-starter. Strong analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively clearly and concisely to providers and staff from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only a limited amount of information available.
