Regional Director of Training (Lake View Terrace)

Based in Southern California, the Director of Clinical Training will oversee all aspects of training within Phoenix Houses of California. S\He will provide training and technical assistance to all Phoenix Houses of California programs located throughout California and inside multiple California Correctional facilities. Reporting to the Regional Director of Human Resources and working in collaboration with Program Managers, the Trainer for In-Prison Services will lead and participate in curriculum development, analyze staff training needs and assist in the development of an annual training plans, focusing especially on activities involved in providing and maintaining compassionate, trauma informed, gender responsive environments through the delivery of professional substance abuse counseling.
Knowledge of the development and implementation of gender responsive services (Theoretical Framework: Trauma Theory, Pathways Theory, Relational Model of Women?s Psychological Development), etc.; substance abuse and mental health treatment, human behavior and social development, substance abuse and co-occurring psychiatric disorders, adult learning, design of effective training programs for adults. Some familiarity with the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) Gender Responsive Strategies:
Research, Practice, and Guiding Principles for Women Offenders. Familiar with a variety of prison- and community-based residential drug treatment programs and approaches for women offenders.
Qualifications: Masters degree in education, training technology, or related work experience in training\education in academic, clinical, or corporate setting. Or Bachelor?s degree in education, training technology, or related field and 10 years experience in the delivery of training and development of curriculum. Clinical experience, preferably supervisory or management in a substance abuse treatment setting is preferred. Please fax your resume to (818)896-3442.
