Description:

The Director of Development is in charge of fundraising for Phoenix Houses of California, located in Lake View Terrace in the San Fernando Valley. Reporting to the Executive Director, s/he oversees and coordinates all activities pertaining to the identification, cultivation and solicitation of major gifts from individual and corporate donors. Areas of responsibility include corporate and sponsorship development, major gifts, special events, direct mail, planned giving and donor relations. Also responsible for managing public relations efforts.

Requirements: BA required; Masters Degree preferred. Experience: Minimum 10 years in nonprofit development, at least five of which have been in direct solicitation. Familiar with fundraising principles and practices including annual giving, direct mail and planned giving. Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills. Must also be articulate, persuasive, and persistent. Knowledge of Raisers Edge a plus.
Salary commensurate with experience.
